Inclement Weather Policy – Winter 2024/2025

Dear Colleagues,

This week, students and faculty were reminded of best practices for course delivery in the event that inclement weather leads to the cancellation of in-person classes. In-person class meetings, to the extent possible, should be held online or remotely if needing to be cancelled due to inclement weather.

As a reminder, on days when in-person classes are transitioned to remote due to inclement weather, only essential employees, as previously determined by their respective department leaders, should report to campus. All other employees should fulfill their work responsibilities remotely and follow guidelines established within their department.

As has been the case, any change in operational status would be announced through the University’s emergency notification system by the Department of Public Safety by 6 a.m. for day classes (classes starting before 4 p.m.) and by 1 p.m. for evening and night classes (classes beginning at 4 p.m. or later).

We appreciate your dedication to the University and our students, as well as your ongoing efforts on their behalf.
